Life on Film Photography provides heirloom quality albums designed to capture family photos with a classic, timeless style that focuses on the photographs and the moments they capture.
Year-in-the-Life sessions are a perfect collection of portrait photography sessions for an album that tells the story of your child’s first years. Albums are hardback books with or without cover photographs.
Our albums are made locally by a national producer and come standard with a genuine leather cover; vegan options are also available. Books start at 10 spreads, or 20 pages, and are designed individually with attention to detail.
Our album options include:
- ~ multiple color choices for the cover
- ~ traditional or modern page thickness
- ~ name and date imprinting in either the center or lower right corner of the cover
- ~ embossing in black, silver, gold or blind
- ~ choice of vertical or horizontal design for non-square album sizes
- ~ album size options including 8x8, 8x10, 10x10, 8x12, 9x12, 10x12, 12x12
- ~ grandparent albums available
- ~ soft back brag books available
Custom sizes and more extensive cover options are available if you're interested in going beyond the standard portrait album. You can upgrade your album by adding an image to the front cover and add up to 30 spreads in groups of 5 (60 pages).
The album timeline is dependent on collecting favorite images from the portrait session. We proof all photographs at a viewing party in our Decatur office within a month of the session and collect the photos you love most and must have in your album. We also collect images we love. Once we finalize the collection, we start the design process.
After photos are selected, album design can take between two weeks and one month, depending on the size of your album, the time of year (our busy seasons are Spring and Fall) and other factors in our production workflow. The initial design will come to you for proofing online. Once we get your feedback -- via email or face-to-face visit -- we'll do one round of changes. If you need further rounds of adjustments, our rates are reasonable and are based on the additional time we invest to edit the design.
Our high quality books are guaranteed to stand up to normal wear and tear and can be repaired if anything unfortunate ever happens.
