Life on Film Photography provides heirloom quality albums designed to tell your mitzvah story with a classic, timeless style that focuses on the photographs and the moments they capture.
Our albums are made locally by a national producer and come standard with a genuine leather cover; vegan options are also available. Books start at 10 spreads, or 20 pages, and are designed individually with attention to detail.
Our album options include:
- ~ multiple color choices for the cover
- ~ traditional or modern page thickness
- ~ name and date imprinting in either the center or lower right corner of the cover
- ~ embossing in black, silver, gold or blind
- ~ choice of vertical or horizontal design for standard 8x10 album size
- ~ album size options including 8x8 and 10x10; grandparent albums can be produced at 8x8 and larger
Custom sizes and more extensive cover options are available if you're interested in going beyond the standard mitzvah album. You can upgrade your album by adding an image to the front cover and add up to 30 spreads in groups of 5 (60 pages).
The album timeline is dependent on collecting favorite images from the event. We proof all photographs online within one month of the event and create a "favorite" gallery where you can collect the photos you love most and must have in your album. We also collect images we love. Once we know you've finalized your collection, we start the design process.
Some of our clients worry they'll never be able to pick from all of the photos we provide... or that by the time they can, it will be a year later! No worries. Just set up a viewing party at our Decatur studio and we'll pick together. We'll also have coffee or wine and most likely laugh and catch up on things while we're at it.
Once the photos are selected, album design can take between two weeks and one month, depending on the size of your album, the time of year (our busy seasons are Spring and Fall) and other factors in our production workflow. The initial design will come to you for proofing online. Once we get your feedback -- via email or face-to-face visit -- we'll do one round of changes. If you need further rounds of adjustments, our rates are reasonable and are based on the additional time we invest to edit the design.
